Why are we here? Where are we going? Where do we come from? What is our reason of Being?
The answers to these questions can only be verified through the direct experience of reality, by awakening of one’s consciousness to the intimate self-realisation of our inner Being. This is what Gnosis, which in Greek means knowledge, facilitates; “Know thyself and you will know the Universe and the Gods”.
The real Gnostic in us is our true inner Being, awakened and fully realised in creation. In order to rediscover ourselves and awaken in the Being we need specific teachings, knowledge, that will help us to become aware of our situation and to rediscover and connect with our inner divine principles.
Gnosis as a Esoteric School seeks none other than to provide us with these teachings and to guide and align us with our own inner divine nature. Gnosis offers all that we need to liberate and awaken the consciousness we have within ourselves, to point us inwards to rediscover and re-counter ourselves.
Gnosis or the knowledge of the Being is contained within us, but we are not conscious of or awakened to it. The Being in each individual Soul has existed as long as creation has and therefore, the principles and knowledge of the Being are eternal and have existed and do exist, even beyond the name or school of “Gnosis”.
Gnosis is simply the name and form of the vehicle through which the teachings and principles are being organised and called by at this point in time.

Gnosis is a type of knowledge that is derived from personal experience and cannot be learned through traditional methods such as reading or listening to lectures. It is the understanding of spiritual truths that comes from within and is the foundation of all genuine spiritual traditions. Gnosis is an ancient path of knowledge that leads to self-realisation and spiritual liberation. It is a holistic form of wisdom that encompasses spirituality, philosophy, science, and art, aiming to awaken higher states of consciousness and inner divinity.
The Australian Gnostic Association of Melbourne is a not for profit organisation. All costs are covered by the facilitators of the centre and the group. If possible, we recommend a set weekly contribution $15/wk to help us to cover the costs of running the centre and the courses.
Although the inability to pay will never prevent anyone from attending the gnostic classes, the contributions help in the running of the centre, and are greatly appreciated. Our aim is not profit, but to share gnosis with anyone who is interested, regardless of race, religion, sex, occupation or wealth.

Most classes go from 1.5hrs to 2hours, with each class consisting of a talk and a guided meditation practice. Practices range from introductory techniques for relaxation and meditation, to keys that can be applied in daily life. Also, no previous experience is needed. The weekly gnostic classes and practices serve as a foundation to further develop the science and ethics of meditation in a more in depth manner.
Gnosis at its heart is a purely practical school, it consists of a wide variety of esoteric and psychological practices that compliment the theoretical knowledge that is given. The aim is for that which is taught can be verified by the student, thus allowing the student to attain their own.
Meditation, esoteric yoga, consciousness, psychology, self-transformation, esoteric anatomy, the Hebraic Kabbalah, alchemy, sacred sexuality or tantra. In addition, we also cover: Kundalini, clairvoyance, psychic powers, dream yoga and astral projection (also known as out of body experiences or lucid dreams). Also included, spiritual initiation, tarot, runes, astrology, Buddhism, the great world religious scriptures, and many other spiritual subjects.
So we study the wisdom of both east and west in a comprehensive, didactic way, unlike many other forms of spirituality that focus on one specific religion alone.

As far as attendance to the introductory classes, anyone is welcome to attend one, several or all of the classes being offered in the series of public talks. For those who are interested, a weekly course will continue which will go deeper into the topics that have been introduced. Since the classes and practices build on each other, consistent weekly attendance is expected for those who decide to continue with the classes. If you decide you do not want to continue with the classes at any point in time, you are free to do so with no further obligations. So if we do not hear from you, you will not hear from us. This is done to respect your privacy.
