The Melbourne Gnostic Society offers weekly classes across Melbourne and regional Victoria—including Bendigo, Ballarat, Frankston Heights, Geelong, and Vermont South. These sessions welcome anyone interested in exploring Gnosis, a form of spiritual and self-knowledge attained through direct personal experience. Our classes require no adherence to any specific belief system or religion, and instead encourage the full development of each individual's human and spiritual potential.
Our comprehensive curriculum introduces universal principles for self-discovery and inner growth, drawing from diverse sources including science, philosophy, art, and the world's rich spiritual traditions. Through applying these teachings in daily life, students can achieve immediate and lasting positive transformation, greater inner freedom, and happiness.
Although classes are open to everyone, regular attendance is beneficial, as each session builds progressively upon previous material. Participants are free to discontinue attendance at any time without any obligation.
Gnosis considers meditation as an essential and transformative tool on the path to self-realisation. Meditation is more than a simple practice of relaxation or stress relief. It is, in fact, a profound process of introspection and self-discovery, a path leading towards the awakening of consciousness and spiritual enlightenment.
Meditation, as taught by the Gnostic teachings, involves understanding our thoughts, emotions, and actions, and exploring the deeper, hidden parts of ourselves. Through a consistent and sustained practice of meditation, we begin to uncover our inner truths, transcend the ego, and ultimately, discover and realise our interior divinity.
In our courses, we introduce meditation techniques in a gentle and a gradual way according to a natural rhythm, without causing any tension to the mind and body. This gives way to experience the benefits and insights that meditation can provide. Therefore, by establishing the correct foundations, we are able to gradually and naturally increase the duration of the practices.
